Busy bees

Hello everyone

Room 1 have been busy bees over the last few weeks. We have been doing many different things to do with our Farming Unit. We made beautiful animal artwork, learned about what farm animals make for us (we got to make BUTTER),  wrote reports about animals, did an animal play and much more.  Here are some photos of what we have been up to.

Art
We painted a farm background with paint brushes and sponges. We had to try and mix colours to create texture in our artwork. Then we drew our farm animals and painted them with water colours.

Here is some dancing sheep art that we made using pastels. We had to draw our sheep and then colour the background by blending the colours together.

Making butter

First we put the cream and marble in a jar.

Then we had to shake and shake and shake.

Our whipped cream curdled and turned into butter and buttermilk. We got rid of the buttermilk and squished the butter together to make a clump of butter.

We then spread it on bread and it was delicious! We even thought it tasted better than supermarket butter.
