We have been learning about geometric shapes in Friday Maths. We tried a movement based activity in which we had to create the shapes using the arms of everyone in our group! Here are some of the ways we created shapes using our bodies!

Today for Friday Maths, Room 1 went to see our Buddy Class - Room 12. We are learning about symmetry, so we each worked with our Year 5 buddy to make these amazing symmetrical pieces of artwork! Don't they look great!

Symmetry

We have been learning about Symmetry. We had to work in groups to create two sides that were both the same. We learned that this was called the 'line of symmetry'.

Friday Maths Fun

Hello

This term we are focusing on measurement and probability for Friday Maths. Last term we focused on shapes. Here are some photos of activities that we have been doing.

This term - We had to cut out teddybears and measure them using linking cubes. We learned that we have to start measuring from the very bottom (so it is fair) and keep going until we reached the very top. Here are some photos of us measuring and counting. We then had to order the bears from tallest to shortest.

Last term - We had to make 2D shapes out of marshmallows and toothpicks. We decided how many corners (marshmallows) and sides (toothpicks) we needed for each shape. Some of us decided to take up Miss Fok's challenge and even make a 3D cube shape.
