Our second week!

Ni Hao

This week we have been learning about Chinese New Year. It is on the 19th February and we have been learning some facts such as what people do to celebrate it. We have learnt that people can decorate house and streets with special chinese lanterns, they can watch a really cool lion dance or wear new clothes, they can watch fireworks and firecrackers go off and eat lots of yummy food!

We celebrated CNY by making our very own chinese lanterns. Don't they look beautiful?

We then celebrated Valentines day by making cards that had dogs (made out of different sized hearts) to give to someone that we love. Some of us decided to give our card to our whole family!

Don't forget: Meet the teacher evening is on Thursday 19th February at 6.00pm. I would really appreciate it if whanau could attend.
